PARENT INVOLVEMENT

Parents can play many roles in sport: current or former athlete, coach, fan, motivator, role model or critic. A few studies have shown that family members may influence an athlete’s involvement and achievement in sport more than coaches. Parents also are the first and most critical agents at socializing sports.

We strongly encourage parents to value the impact and influence that they have on their young athletes, and to model the type of positive attitude and behaviors that will help their children be successful both on and off the court. A positive attitude, overcoming adversity, being a good teammate, and having realistic goals are all traits that team sports can develop, and help set our student-athletes up for long term success.

TEAM FORMATION

All teams are formed through a tryout process.  Tryouts will be completed during the month of September of an upcoming season.

All new and existing players must participate in the tryout process. Teams are then posted roughly one week after tryouts on our website and a letter via email from the Head Coach.

Teams will practice more or less often and participate in more or less games depending on their grade level. League schedules are host at local high schools. Tournament participation may or may not include out of town tournaments. Travel and lodging expenses are the responsibility of each family.

7th and 8th Grade teams will practice 2-3 times per week. Most 7th and 8th Grade teams will play between 30-40 games per season including league and tournament games.  .

5th and 6th Grade teams will practice 2-3 times per week.  Our 5th and 6th Grade club teams will participate in 30-40 games per season including league and tournament games.

3rd and 4th Grade teams will practice 2 times per week.  Our goal for 4th Grade teams will be 30-40 games in a season including league and tournament games.
